On the administration front I have a good number of years practical experience having been a Club Captain, Chairman and President at Club level (not all at the same time!). Prior to the creation of East Hockey Limited I held the position of Chair of the East Masters\u2019 Committee and was the lead on the East Masters\u2019 Transition Working Group. I was honoured to captain the England Masters team at O55 and O60 age levels and was delighted to lead an extremely talented and dedicated squad that gained both European and World titles over a number of years. I still play Masters\u2019 hockey but having need of a new hip in 2017, I fear my representative years may be behind me now. I still play hockey for Cambridge City and have played international Masters for the last 9 years. Although I am involved in other sports, hockey has been the constant throughout my life, providing many fantastic memories and great friendships. Russell has been a member of Ipswich – East Suffolk (IES) Hockey Club in Suffolk for the last decade. He has been Vice-Chair, and a team captain (and many other roles) during his time at IES. Prior to joining IES he was a member of Ipswich Hockey Club for over 15 years \u2013 including a period as Chair when both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s first teams were playing at National League level. The 1st week of the Workplacement programme will introduce students to the module and to the first task, the production of a substantial management report that helps to investigates a specific organisational opportunity or issue. This is a significant independent project, where you determine the subject to be investigated and the methodology to be followed.<\/p>\n

This a core one semester module delivered on MSc International Trade and Finance course and as an option on other courses in the subject area. This module aims to stimulate the student\u2019s critical awareness and application of key strategic management theories to their own practice and develop their ability to evaluate current practice in the light of relevant academic theories.<\/p>\n
The Postgraduate Work Placement module provides you with the opportunities to further develop practical skills, relate theory to practice and to gain a sound base of experience. In addition, the module seeks to develop ‘life skills’ to assist you in progressing towards a career in management. The placement period offers you the opportunity to experience work in the hospitality industry and to gain academic credit for your learning. It is important therefore that you are given the opportunity to work in an organisation which is both appropriate to your needs and has a professional approach towards training and development. Your needs and any previous experience are taken into consideration, when introducing you to a suitable employer.<\/p>\n
